These tags allowed inspectors and naval officers to determine if the bales were being smuggled or Confederate contraband. Also, 3 small cotton bale tags, along with several different cotton tax related documents including a cotton tax exemption
certificate crop year 1935-6 and a 1943 cotton order card - covered in cotton order revenue stamps. A very interesting group that should be viewed to fully appreciate, overall F-VF. |
