4003   US 'OLD TIMER'S' COVER HORDE. about 2,000 postal history items from the 1860s to 1950’s with the lion’s share being the 1920’s period, with a tremendous amount of commercial special delivery usages, mainly cancelled by a diverse group of RPO cancels (several better) and franked by Washington/Franklin issues and Liberty issues, along with a large chunk franked by imperfs in multiples paying proper rates (quite scarce, including the black Harding issue) and better 1920’s 5 cent commems and special delivery values. Additionally a strong showing of mint and used p. sty of the time (some up to the 1950’s or so) with many requiring the specialized catalog to discover value. There are also other usages, like the 1860’s with mainly Scott 10, 11, and 26s on cover, some banknotes (large and small) and others. There are some with condition problems, but the bulk is good and the type of unpicked hoard that you rarely find these days!

4004   SMALL 19TH CENTURY COVER LOT starting with an 1841 envelope with frank of Daniel Webster as Senator and an enclosure of an ALS being a letter of introduction, other items incl. #1 on entire folded letter from Boston to Portsmouth, better early covers include an impressive allover front multicolor illustrated legal size cover advertising The Eastman National Business College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., used from there to Ohio with two #65's for a double rate (edge faults to cover), incl. other interesting usages including a B.F. Stevens cover and a 4c Trans-Mississippi commercial usage, mostly F-VF.
