5062 og,O   imageTURKEY IN ASIA AND ANATOLIA EXTRAORDINARY COLLECTION.Given to us at the ,11th hour and ,59th minute, the only way you can begin to appreciate what is here is by studying the photoplates which will give you a fraction of this phenomenal collection. Housed in two filled volumes mint and used, possessing the key detail of having blocks or even occasionally larger multiples, all disclosing different settings on the overprints of these issues. As far as we can see, all the different Departments are here and clearly includes world rarities as well. It is completely uncataloged and has wonderful material throughout, literally hundreds of individual items, even including errors and a little postal history as well.  ,Some of the key issues at a very quick glance, choosing from each Department would be used #17 ($1750) 1000pi brown Religious Tribunals, then blocks of 9 of the 100pi brown #22 (minimum Scott cat as singles $1500) the Court Costs, then Notary Public superb strip of 3x of the 50pi ocher (Scott #24 $450), followed by the Theater Tax 20pa black mint Scott #27 ($5000) and then the Land Registry with the 2pi blue black superb used on piece in combination Scott #28 ($6250). Also seen are blocks of 6 and then8 of the 50pi ocher Ottoman Post of 1921, virtually all mint never hinged, Scott #36 (as singles $5000), as well as mint and used Museum Tax stamps, etc, etc. Time and space do not permit further description, other than to state that there is so much more to study and enjoy. Of course the 1920 and 1921 Nationalist issues are here in strength as well. It would not be an exaggeration to say that there are items present that are irreplaceable. While we have chosen a few of these wonderful stamps, there will be many more discoveries throughout. A once in a lifetime opportunity. (Image1) (Image2) (Image3)

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
5063 nh   UNTED ARAB EMIRATES 1970s/2000s MINT NH HOLDING.A most incredible and high unusual hoard from this ever increasingly popular and wealthy country, all mint niver hinged, all complete series covering a wide range of topics and themes, such as wildlife, soccer World Cup, pearls, golf, birds inc the Phoenix definitives to 10 dirhams, fish, medicine, new and old archaeology inc the scarce definitives series again to 10 dirhams, children, banking and much more, all pristine, all never hinged, all in complete series. Fortunately this represents nothing but the good printings of the Dubai, Abu Dhabi , Ajman, Sharjah, Rsa Al-Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain, all part of the UAE, not separate countries of the old sand dune days . Most of these printings which are extremely attractive come from 2001 to 2007, bought for the most part as new issues generally speaking x10, also half a dozen or so of each m/s, notwthistanding the scarce definitive series already mentioned. ,You only have to look at the UAE Gazelles m/s to see that the individual printing numbers are very low as each m/s has its own low printing numbers on it (nothing like the millions issued in Western Europe), running into tens of thousands at best. These two stockbooks, filled to the gills have a great future ahead of them and this material, especially the more recent is seldom seen even today. The owner had a huge new issue cost, yet virtually everything here is also at a considerable premium on the open market. ,A great opportunity. 1,500-2,000

VIETNAM
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
5067 og,O   imageSUBSTANTIAL COLLECTION OF THE "VIETNAMS".One volume with well over 750 stamps, nearly everything we can see is one of a kind including occasional pairs and blocks of 4 with many scarce issues present, even scarcer varieties. Beginning with the 1951 first series souvenir booklet of South Vietnam, followed by another booklet with 20 of the 1952 Red Cross semi-postal issue (Scott #B1), then the 1954 crown prince series mint never hinged (Scott #20/26) etc. Then the 1945/46 Viet Minh provisional overprint stamps of Indochina, seemingly complete including one of the scarcest issue the "viet nam dan chau Congo hoa" and "buu chinh" on 25cts blue rice planter with both types of overprint mint never hinged (#1L14, #1L14a), plus another extraordinary error, not mentioned in Scott on "doc-lap tu-do hanh-phuc buu-chinh" on the 4cts Doumer pair, with the right-hand stamp having the line "hanh-phuc" inverted, se-tenant! These issues run all the way through to the 1948 Ho Chi Minh types for North Vietnam again with much scarce material, for example the so called tissue paper mint and used (#1L62/1L63), along with the scarce 1956 50 dong surcharge also both mint (x2) and used (#50), leading on to the Democratic Republic with a very strong showing, including leaders with flags series complete mint x 2 (#6/8), the 1954 surcharges with four different types (#12,13, 13var, 14), as well as mint with all the overprint color permutations on the 10d on 100d and 20d on 300d (#13,14 vars), even multiples including the 10d and 100d inverted overprint pair and the 20d on 200d block of four, followed by the Dien Phu series complete mint (#17/19), the 5d official surcharge mint (#07), the land reforms inc block of 4, the Cu Chinh Lan officials complete mint (#O10/O16), the government series(#28/31), box surcharges again including those not listed in Scott, further souvenir sheets, progressive color trials, unissued designs, etc, etc. A highly recommended viewing for the specialist, a most important holding of this increasingly popular area. Dealers of Vietnam, especially North Vietnam, this is an opportunity not to be missed, please study the photoplates. , (Image1) (Image2) (Image3)

YEMEN
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
5069 og,O,c   IMPRESSIVE YEMEN STAMPS AND POSTAL HISTORY COLLECTION.

An extraordinary range of material virtually filling one substantial volume, starting off with the imperforate primitives, ie the 1926 "cross dagger" types on the various different papers, superb used as well as mint. Some of the better items seen include a highly unusual pair of the #1 on piece used but rouletted, accompanied by certificate. This is certainly rare. Then follows further studies of these issues on both the laid and wove papers, again mint and used with the latter occasionally on piece, all four margined examples. This leads through to the foreign and domestic postage issues of 1930/31, again with some highly specialised material including 11 of the same mint overprinted specimen, however please note that some of these are stuck down on the page but are of excellent appearance. Then some useful commercial postal history, including for example Scott #8, #11, #15 and #16, making the correct 14 bogaches rate for registered purposes to Switzerland, originating in Hodlida Yemen through to Feurthalen via Aden on this scarce 1934 letter. More commercial postal history, represented by further registered with different combinations again to make the 14 bogaches rate, as part of the correspondence to the same addressee. Then yet further commercial covers this time single usage, as well as attractive philatelic covers with many different denominations. More interesting pages this time with stamps for example, 1 mint and 2 used examples of the handstamped in black of  ,Scott #30, ludicrously low in Scott compared to its scarcity. Then further unusual material including plate number imperforate blocks of 4 of various values of the 1939 combined flags of Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Iran definitives, as well as various different singles, again corner plate number sheet marginals imperforates, etc. These imperf issues are certainly scarce and with the plate numbers exceptionally so. Occasionally some of the later material is out of chronological order, nevertheless the same pattern of collecting the unusual continues. For example, sheet corner marginal blocks of 6 of the type A7 1940 high value definitive with different plate numbers, followed by 6 commercial usage covers of the same series including registered from Taiz, as well as other places on the Red Sea including combination defins, often sent to the USA, however the Taiz cover sent to the interesting destination of Steamer Point, Aden, etc. There are also internal usages noted, written of course in Arabic. For those that find this area challenging and recognise how scarce it is compared to its availability, then this collection is not to be missed. An excellent opportunity to buy before the market catches up, especially on the postal history.

Then the semi-postals with further overprint errors, also the scarce inured soldier issues, the 5h green and 10h magenta, the former with o/p offset on reverse, followed by used examples on cover (#1LB3/1LB4) etc. The postage dues are also strong with cyrillic for Latin and Latin for cyrillic errors on every denomination, including many in blocks of four as well as further unusual errors. Also seen attractive reversed language errors, followed by the later postage dues again replete with errors, almost impossible to re-assemble with so many scarce items present. For example, an excellent showing of perf errors and pre-printing paper folds on the 1921 King Peter I definitives including the 10d brown used pair with both horizontal perf lines through the middle of the stamps, then the 25p blue margin block of four with strongly misplaced perfs, the 4d blue green used strip of 4 with all perfs misplaced, etc. Then further attractive paper folds on the 1921 disabled soldiers fund 25p+25p light blue mint pair and block of four, the 1918 cyrillic forerunner overprint on Bosnia 50h Kaiser's birthday issue with overprint inverted, mint never hinged, the1920 Slovenia forerunner 2d blackish violet Peter I proof printed double on old newspaper - a very impressive scarce item - through to WWII 1941 Italian occupation of Slovenia etc. 0.50d on 1.50d surcharge for Lubiana block of 16 showing full offset of the "050" imprints on the reverse etc. Also seen are good post-war varieties too including the 1951 insurrection anniversary 3d claret margin block of four with perfs partially doubled, the 1960 Children's Week Tax 2d red corner block of 10 with dramatic paper folds, the 1971 50p green tourism definitive mint never hinged strip of 5 with phosphor bands not listed in Michel and accompanied by Velimir Ercegovic certificate and the 1987 red cross tax 5d mint never hinged horizontal pair imperf  ,between etc. A wonderful group of errors, including a good number of scarce, possibly unique items with a retail potential many times our estimate, ideal for EBay. 2,500-3,500

5072 og,O   YUGOSLAVIA SPECIALIZED COLLECTION.A remarkable range of the increasingly popular area of Yugoslavia, housing several hundreds if not thousands of stamps, neatly organised in two substantial volumes with good postal history chronologically integrated into the collection. The first volume is 90% mint in unusually high quality with much never hinged, starting off in reverse order with a selection of the postage dues with #J1 - #J11, mint and used. The collector also noted the different perforation types on the 1924s #J12 - #J20 with a mint and used series again present. The collection then expands almost exclusively to mint with the 1928s, the 1931s (with 3 examples of the high value 10d chocolate), then the 1932 and 1933s with the same level of completion including the different perforations and also non-Scott listed inverted overprints. Also a very impressive selection of varieties on the first issues including #1L21a, 7x #1L22a, ,4x #1L32a, #1L36a, #1L38b, #1LB1a with black overprint and 2 examples with red overprint, 4x #1LB2a, #1LE1a, 3x #1LE1b, 6x #1LE2a, 2x #1LE2b and much, much more including #2L5a, a particularly attractive wing marginal #2L34a (never hinged), 2x #2LJ2a, onto many of the different varieties of the chain breakers, King Peter definitives, postage due stamp issues for Slovenia (including key #3LJ32a), #J9a, etc. As importantly, the collection develops more and more into varieties not listed in Scott, this time with the collector identifying many unusual and scarce items including scarce plate types, broken numerals, unlisted perforations, overprint errors including inverted, then 1933 King Alexander semi-postals well represented with 16 different unlisted varieties on these issues alone, even some postal history as well to research. The second volume also impressive and diverse in scope, starting off with a study of the 1921 semi-postals with non-Scott listed imperfs, an attractive cover to Scotland with all 3 denominations "for the society of wounded invalids" overprint, the complete series of #B5 to #B16 in blocks of 4 mint, the 1920s and 1930s also well represented including mint blocks of the war tax memorial o/ps, as well as complete sheets of the 1932 issues #B26 to #B31. Then at least 3 mint and one used series  ,of the 1933 #B32 to #B37 each with label at the foot of the stamp, then the 1933s complete, 1934s #B40 to #B41 with 5 complete mint series, #B44 and #B45, this time with 7 complete series, accompanied by an unusual registered advertising cover with #B43, #B44, B#45 and pair of #102, then #B46 and #B47 first day cover sent to England. This methodical approach continues with the semi-postals through to 1940, etc. The collection then moves on to airmails, starting with a selection of postal history Zemlin to Zagreb, Zagreb to Zemen, Lubljana to Zagreb 1933 with attractive cachets, etc,. A fascinating collection, ideal for the specialist, dealer or collector, with many hard to find items.
