EASTERN SILESIA
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
5643 ogO   EASTERN SILESIA PHENOMENAL STAMP AND ERROR COLLECTION INCLUDING POSTAL HISTORY.A 2 volume holding with thousands of stamps, mint and used, quite extraordinary including the first definitives with all kinds of errors. It is absolutely mouthwatering in its extent . Of particular note is the 5 on 15pf , categorised by different o/ps with at least a dozen copies mint and four copies used, followed by an intense study of these o/ps for all denominations including pi for pf, no dot after pf, pf omitted, inverted o/p, double and inverted o/p, double surcharge and , if that is not enough triple surcharge and every which way conceivable &ndash, there is also a good range of the 50pf on 5mk orange, again with this stamp with double surcharge, double inverted, pi for pf, etc etc. Then the next definitive series including the plebiscites 20th March 1921 o/ps including the inverted o/ps on the 75pf green, followed by a range of the Gorny Slask perf and imperf, leading onto postal stationery used. The second volume has the CIHS o/ps all signed by Haertel in red and black and valued accordingly! The official o/ps as with the definitives are absolutely exceptional from #01 onwards all the way through to #051 and probably is irreplaceable in such depth. An extraordinary collection. , 7,500-10,000
