2022 GRP,   imageRichard Columbus Mears correspondence of Eight Covers, 1850s/80s, Mears worked as a merchant ship captain on numerous ships out of New York, for most of his life. He traveled all over the world and wrote his only daughter, Nellie Goodsell Mears Van Valkenburgh, his three wives and many other family members faithfully. Included is a scarce 1879 15c rate banknote usage to Australia, 1885 forwarded cover to Brazil, Barbados printed matter rate use with contents, 1891 Cape of Good Hope cover, three covers from South America, and 1858 cover from Pensacola with pair 3c issues.
