2018 GRP,   Original Naval Related Archive and Correspodence, 1820s-1870s, consisting a family correspondences primarily to or from George S Clymer, U.S. Naval Surgeon or Commodore and Rear Admiral W.B. Shubrick, the letters many in original envelopes or on folded letters consist of much Navy related mail, to start there are signed letters from at least Seven different Secretary's of the Navy including but not limited to "Samuel Southard, Levi Woodbury, J.K. Paulding, William Graham, John P. Kennedy, J.C. Dobbin(3), Gideon Welles(5)", a nice section of the archive relates to the Herndon Monument ,Fund raising (Dr, Clymer was treasurer or it) and the construction of the Herndon Monument on the ground of the "Naval Academy at Annapolis" which includes the minutes of the meeting setting up the fund raising committee, Secretary of Navy authorizing monument, original contract for the Herndon Monument with cost break down, Congressional approval of the Monument, account books of deposits to the Fund, also present are numerous letters from Naval ,ships ,including only in a small ,part the Decatur, Plymouth, Pennsylvania, Fulton, Independence, Savannah, Columbus, Susquehannah, Preble and many others, several Commodore or Admiral letters, a few checks of documents with revenue stamps, an 1826 letter from Congress approving removal of Oliver Perry remains from Trinidad, there is even a beautiful passport for George Clymer signed Hamilton Fish and his official appointment as Naval Surgeon, ,there are hundreds of unchecked letters and other ,items from all over the world, ,it will take a lot of time to do a thorough job of examing this lot so please allow several hours if you really have interest as this is a very strong historical view of the Navy from inside one family, also a few covers with 3c Green bankontes, nearly all are Fine-Very Fine. ,ex-Dr. George Clymer ,(no photo) 10,000-20,000
