2133 ngbl Hellrigl #20b, c imageHellrigl #20b, c, 1898-1901 1a (Dull) gray green on native paper of poor quality, pin-perforated, tete-beche pair, setting 22. two tete-beche pairs in top left partial inscription corner block of 12, positions 1-4/9-12/17-20, positions 10-11 being the inverted cliches, unused without gum as issued, this setting is unusual and easily identified by the wide space between the first and second words of the inscription, selvages are large showing the sheet frame lines, strong color, very fine; an extremely rare and key block which is probably the largest known multiple from this setting and the key marginal block that identifies this setting; described on page 98 in Hellrigl/Vignola Handbook; ex-Haverbeck (Scott #18 var. a var; S.G. #19, a; £1760+). 2134 ng Helrigl #21 imageHellrigl #21, 1898-1903 2a (Dull) violet on native paper of poor quality, pin-perforated, complete sheet of 56, setting 13, unused without gum as issued, possessing full wide salvages showing a new format in the inscription and frame lines, the plate was completely overhauled at this time removing all the inverted cliches and in the process eliminating eight cliches, including the ragged cliche, so the sheet has 56 stamps (8x7) instead of 64, color is attractive and fresh with an excellent impression, very fine; this is an extremely rare and especially important sheet historically; it is the unique only known complete sheet of this setting; furthermore this sheet is almost certainly the sheet Major Evans received from Nepal in March 1899 and possessing contemporaneous manuscript at the bottom of the sheet stating, "...printed about the end of Jan.1899" which a key element in the dating of the Two Annas value; an exhibition piece of great importance; ex-Haverbeck (Scott #19; $5,050.00+; S.G. #20; £5,050+). 2140 ngbl Hellrigl #22, a imageHellrigl #22, a, 1898-1903 4a Yellow green on native paper of poor quality, pin-perforated, complete sheet of 64, setting 9, unused without gum as issued, a handsome sheet of this scarce value possessing wide selvages (slight toning at the extreme edges) showing the inscription at top and the sheet frame lines on all four sides, this setting is identified by the wide setting of the overall inscription, bright attractive color and quite clear impression, position 54 is inverted, plus the various plate flaws of which some are quite striking show well, very fine; an impressive and exceedingly rare sheet being the only know complete sheet of setting 9 either imperforate or pin-perforated; this is also the only know pin-perforated sheet of the 4a value in this 1898-1903 period, apparently pin-perforated to order for Major Evans; ex-Evans, Dawson and Garratt-Adams (Scott #22, a; $10,200.00; S.G. #21, a; £10,200).
