783 ogOc   British Africa Boer War postal history accumulation, over 75 covers and postal cards of the period of 1900-1902 covering the area of South Africa involved in the Boer War, we note postings of Cape of Good Hope, Orange River Colony, Transvaal and St. Helena, we even note some inbound covers from Great Britain as well as Great Britain franking with field post cancels, many covers with censor handstamps and censor sealing tape, etc., includes some attractive frankings, especially of Orange River Colony with multiple rate items and registered usages, also includes a few mint and used loose stamps of Mafeking and Vryburg, condition varies with normal postal wear to covers but largely fine-very fine; a nice lot of this interesting area that is well worth examining. 785 og(nh)Obl   British Columbia and Vancouver Island substantial mint and used accumulation of over 85 stamps including some in multiples with two blocks of four, most are the perforated issues starting with numerous mint, unused and used examples of #2, Vancouver Island does have an unused example and eight used including a pair of the 10c Blue imperforate (#4), most of the rest are the perforated values of the separate issues for Vancouver Island and British Columbia and a couple of the later surcharged issues, we note some varieties such as inverted watermarks on #6, 7, 7a and 12, surprisingly Unitrade only lists the #12 and Scott does not list any of them, condition is varied, many mint have o.g. but regummed are present, faults are also present but most are of fine appearance and some are truly fine or better; Scott catalog value is enormous being well in excess of $30,000.00; well worth examining. 789 ng/nhObl   Canada substantial old-time nineteenth century collection, housed in a deluxe Yvert padded album with dust case on blank gold leaf pages, contains over 475 singles plus another 110 multiples from over 50 pairs to as large as blocks of twelve, this collection covers the period of the 1852-57 imperforates through the 19th century with a few mint in the early 20th century to the period of the Admirals, the collection starts with eight proofs including five proofs cut from the American Bank Note Co. trade sample sheets, all five values of the 1852-57 imperforates are represented by at least one used example and the 3d Red has a mint single with substantial o.g. (thin) plus eleven used singles and two pairs, the 1859-64 "Cents" issues are extensive with numerous examples of each value showing different cancels with some colored cancels in this issue and later and varieties such as portions of the imprints within the perforations, re-entries, etc, we note three unused 3c Red's along with eight multiples including a used strip of four and block of four, the 10c value includes five unused examples and numerous shades, the Large Queens are well represented for all values including some unused copies in some values, a number of multiples including a horiz. strip of three of the 2c Green with red target cancel, a mint block of four with o.g. of the 12½c Blue (back faults but attractive appearance) and two used blocks of the 15c in different shades, starting with the Small Queens mint and unused become more prevalent, each value has numerous used and unused or mint singles plus multiples up to a mint block of 12 of the 1c yellow, in the numerous mint multiples never hinged singles are found, 1897 Jubilees are complete mint as are the1897-98 Victoria Maple Leaves, 1898-1902 Victoria Numerals are complete mostly mint, and the Edward VII and Quebec Tercentenary issues are complete mint plus a few later, condition varies as would be expected in a collection of this scope, centering is often quite varied in the early perforated issues as is normally found, many stamps are sound but faults are present throughout, early unused are usually without gum or regummed, original gum becomes more the norm in the later 19th century issues though some unused will be found in the better Small Queens such as the numerous shades of the 10c value, many fine-very fine collectable stamps are present; a most interesting collection for the collector concentrating in the nineteenth century issues and well worth examining; a valuable collection with total Scott catalog value is well in excess of $125,000.00. 791 og/nhbl   Canada better mint sheet collection/accumulation consisting of 43 mostly complete sheets but including a few partial sheets, starts in 1917 with a top and bottom panes of 50 each of the 3c Canadian Confederation and goes to better values as late as 1956 including special delivery, postage dues, war tax stamps and officials, some of the better items we note include a full panse of 50 of the 1927 20c Brown carmine (#148) and 1946 50c Blue green (#272), the war tax stamps include a partial sheet of 93 of #MR1 and full sheets of 100 of #MR2 and #MR4, condition overall is remarkably nice and fresh for the period, colors are fresh and attractive, all with fresh o.g., frequently hinged only in the very corner stamps of the sheets leaving the vast majority never hinged, centering is variable as would be expected on the earlier issues, the vast majoity are fine-very fine; a very desirable accumulation with Scott catalog value over $41,000.00. 798 c   Canada and Provinces small postal history accumulation of sixteen early covers with stamps from the period of 1859-79, includes nine covers of Newfoundland with the early perforated or rouletted adhesives, six of these have more than one stamp with some interesting combinations including two with mixed rouletted and perforated values, one with both the 3c Vermilion and 3c Blue (#33-34) paying the double rate, some of these values and combinations are quite scarce on covers, other covers include two each from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia with perforated issues, the later with 12½c Black (#13) including a single franking to England and two singles on a repaired cover to Ceylon; also three covers of Canada including a 10c Red lilac (#17) on double rate cover and a single franking of the 2c Rose (#20) on local cover of Montreal, condition varies with faults to be found on both the covers and some stamps, but usages are often interesting and scarce with fine appearance or better; a nice lot for the postal historian.
