134 U181 image1874, 6¢ Lincoln entire (U181), used from Victoria, Vancouver Is. to London, England via Wells Fargo, San Francisco & New York, franked with Canadian 6¢ Small Queen (uncanceled), paying 3x the 2¢ drop letter rate, handstamped blue Victoria Wells Fargo oval and matching straightline "For Great Britain and Ireland" with a different Victoria Wells Fargo oval on reverse with "Nov", carried by Wells Fargo via San Francisco to New York, where two 6¢ Bank Notes (148) were applied (along with the 6¢ indicia, paying 3x the 6¢ treaty rate) and canceled by New York Foreign Mail cancels (Weise GE-S1), red New York c.d.s. (Nov 20) and London receiver (2 Dec 1872) on front; minor edge toning. F.-V.F. and exceedingly rare.
