EXTREMELY FINE. A RARE 1856 CAMPAIGN DESIGN WITH PORTRAITS OF DEMOCRATIC PARTY CANDIDATES JAMES BUCHANAN AND JOHN C. BRECKINRIDGE WITH THE ADDED PHILATELIC ATTRACTION OF A 3-CENT 1856 ORANGE BROWN STAMP.

This 3c 1851 stamp comes from Plate 8 (EDU Apr. 15, 1856) and was printed in the distinctive 1856 Orange Brown shade, which closely resembles the Orange Brown of early 1852 (Scott 10/10A).
