Lot 5121 -
11A, Fresh mint block with large / huge margins, outstanding colour, VF, NH, minor natural gum bend. A PRETTY SHOWPIECE....Cat 1,440.00
Welcome to Vance's annual summer auction closing on August 5, 2026. This is our 381st auction since we started back in 1972.
Much new material has been flowing into our offices over the last few months and this sale has lots of interesting and unusual items. You will find our auctions collector-friendly and backed up by good old-fashioned service.
Here are some of the highlights:
Extensive classic Canada with Pence, Cents, Large/Small Queens and Jubilees. Of particular note are mint examples of #5 (Lot 5686), and #13 (Lot 5721) each with Certificate.
The Great Britain section is one of the best we have had in recent years (see lots 938-1296). It contains three different mint Penny Blacks; £5 Orange mint, used and Specimen; scarce Pound values; specialty items; and a great section of
covers, postal history, and postcards.
Strong section of Falkland Islands with nice singles and sets including the 1933 Centenary issues to One Pound.
Cyprus has many scarcer older QV-KGV singles, sets and specialty items.
There is a nice group of Macao with better singles and sets. There are many rarely offered items including bisects and #162-3 on three different 1911 covers.
Newfoundland and Canada Provinces have hundreds of fine lots to choose from. The Newfoundland section has the nicest example of #7 (Lot 5112) that we have seen and several rare 19th Century covers including a #8a Bisect cover with
Certificate.
For those looking for covers, postal history, and postcards, there are many hundreds to choose from. These include Zeppelins, stampless, advertising, and illustrated.
Our sections of large lots continue to be very popular with collectors and dealers alike. These lots include intact collections, accumulations, stocks and box lots.
All lots shipped to our American bidders will be sent TARIFF-FREE from our Buffalo, NY address.
Don't forget that there is No Buyer's Fee at Vance Auctions and bidding is in inexpensive Canadian dollars. There is no extra charge for credit card use. Bidding information is updated at Stamp Auction Network. Bidding on items in the sale will
continue until Midnight EDT on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Please note that bids come in from many sources in addition to SAN (including e-mail, telephone, fax, mail, and our own web site). Even if your bid is 'green' at SAN when bidding ends, you could still be outbid. If your bid turns 'red' after
Midnight on the last night of bidding, it means that a higher bid was received from another source before Midnight. Auction results for Sale #381 will be posted at www.vanceauctions.com on the evening of Saturday, August 8th.
