Lot 4977 - 5, 11 (Horiz strip of 3), All tied by 4-Ring numeral "30" cancels on neat Trans-Atlantic cover from Peterboro CW 26 Sp, 1859 to Navan Ireland (rec b/s 13 Oc, '59). Has superb circular Paid Liverpool Col Packet 12 Oc '59 transit cancel in red. On reverse has cancels from Cobourg, Montreal & Dublin (wax seal exised on reverse). This cover was mailed during the Cents era (currency change was effective on 1 July, 1859). THE ONLY KNOWN COVER WITH THIS FRANKING. IT RANKS AS ONE OF THE MOST STUNNING PE....Estimate 20,000.00+ $Cdn

Worldwide Internet/Mail Sale - September 18, 2024

Welcome to our September 18, 2024 auction with over 7,300 lots to choose from. Once again, this sale is loaded with better singles, sets, postal history and postcards plus collections, accumulations, and box lots. Here are some of the highlights:

  • An excellent section of United States 1869 covers. These include nice cancels, corner cards, supplementary markings and advertising.
  • In depth classic Canada including Pence issues, 1859's, Large and Small Queens and Jubilees. Lot 5320 contains a used #3 - the famous 12 Penny Black.
  • Strong showing of Gr. Britain including unused examples of #1 and #2 with each with Certificate. The later issues have many One Pound values highlighted by a spectacular used corner block of the 1929 PUC Pound.
  • The Gr. Britain covers are not to be missed with a nice group of postal history, illustrated covers and postcards of all types.
  • The section of Canada OHMS Perfins includes many better and scarcer types.
  • This sale has an exceptional section of Cyprus with many key early stamps and specialty items.
  • The Italy section has some great items including key stamps and good covers and postcards.
  • Many aviation covers and postcards from a wide range of countries. These include Zeppelins, pioneer aviation flights, early aircraft, pilot signed items and more.
