6923   WWI CORRESPONDENCE FROM GERMAN EAST AFRICA:
Fascinating & historic group of 6 WWI Military covers with enclosures from a British Officer in Tanganyika while combating German Forces. All with FPO #'s 350 (5) & #315 (LINDI & MINGOYO respectively). Written to a Canadian nurse in London, England Aug-Oct 1917. The contents make fascinating reading and tell of a rough boat trip from Durban; suffering from heat & 2 bouts of Malaria; "some of our mails have gone down to Davie Jones"; serving with local police unit; taking supplies in convoy to the front lines; British advancing; local natives fleeing-terrible sight; lions prowling about; etc. Covers roughly opened but letters are in decent condition.
