Feb. 12 1923 4PM" first day duplex cancels on 2¢ Carmine entire with boxed Registered handstamp at bottom left, addressed to a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Post Office Department Philatelic Agency return address, part of wax seal and two purple "Washington D.C. Feb. 12, 1923 Registered" double circle handstamps on back, Extremely Fine, Fleetwood, in an attempt to promote first day cover collecting, produced facsimiles of popular FDCs too expensive for most collectors. This is the example Fleetwood used.

Dye hand painted cacheted first day cover for Scott No. 928 with a block of four tied by showing an upright flowing flag with a general's 5-star tablet cradled by a laurel branch, addressed to Dye at his job, this is from a unique set of 26 prepared by Dye each signed by a different WWII Admiral or General, a bio of Dye accompanies this lot, as does a copy of the page from the 2005 James T. 3351 cover 294-299 image1901, Pan-Americans complete on single First Day Cover (Scott 294-299), on gold-embossed Exposition logo stationery entire, tied by Buffalo Pan-American Exposition slogan cancel dated May '01 (day and hour slugs removed), with Buffalo May 1 01 duplex cancel below; addressed locally with Expo label across backflap; 5¢ & 10¢ stamps with natural straight edge, the 5¢ with a couple slightly rubbed perforations at top right due to placement, but an appealing and rare item nonetheless, Fine to Very Fine+, an exhibition showpiece, one of just 17 known full-set First Day Covers (per Linn's Dec. 21, 2015, p. 16; Scott's 2009 FDC Catalogue & Checklist states "9 known"), ex Lippman.
