Daniel F. Kelleher Auctions, LLC Sale - 802

US & Possessions, British and Worldwide Stamps & Postal History - August 20-22, 2024

A 1500 lot sale brimming with premium items. We start with strong British Commonwealth highlighted by the Lister Great Britain Internal Airmail Collection, an unparalleled exhibit collection of pioneer Airmail service, and a strong offering of Mafeking stamps on- and off-piece. Canada offers a wide range of attractive stamps and a solid group of Airmail Semi-Officials. Worldwide runs from Argentina to Vatican City, with scarce Scout-related covers from China (2nd Jamboree), Czechoslovakia (1918 Scout Post), and Poland (a 1944 clandestine Scout cover), plus outstanding offerings from the Pataki German Colonial Postal History Collection.

Postal History presents 1851-1857 Issue covers organized by use, a substantial offering of US Fancy Cancels (mainly from the Pataki Connecticut Postal History Collection) including an on-cover Waterbury "Pig", a 1938 Presidential “Prexie” Issue collection, along with extensive Graf Zeppelin and Hindenburg covers, featuring many scarce to rare items from or to the Canal Zone and Panama.

We end the sale with our usual broad range of US material, among which you'll find attractive early plate blocks, classic issue First Day Covers (listed with the issue), and numerous EFOs. US Possessions are anchored by a specialized Canal Zone array featuring the Paterson Collection and others, offering mint and used, on-cover uses, errors and varieties, along with solid Postal History including early Airmail.
