1450 S imageTamata: manuscript "Tamata/19-10-05" sideways on BNG 2d. Ex Ray Kelly & Tim Rybak: sold at our auction of 17.10.2008 for $299. Illustrated by Hamilton Croaker in his postmarks monograph where he states "...I have no reason to believe it is otherwise than genuine" and notes it is the only such Papuan marking he has recorded: but see Lot 313399. Lee states that Ioma replaced Tamata mid-1905 so any mail posted from Tamata after that date might well have received a manuscript cancellation. Goldmining. He also refers to "your successor", which confirms the addressee as Sir William MacGregor, who retired 10.9.1898 and was succeeded by George Le Hunte.
