1235 c image1871 (Nov 17) cover with Chalons Perf 10x12½ 2d vermilion CP A2r (SG 130) solo tied by very fine Numeral-in-Bars '6' and superb 'N. PLYMOUTH/N. ZEALAND' cds alongside on face, slightly untidy 'PATEA/NO 19/71' arrival backstamp, a couple of light bends not affecting the stamp. The 2d colour was changed from blue to vermilion around 1.10.1871; the earliest recorded date of a 2d vermilion is 21.10.1871, making this a very early on-cover usage.
