 1884-96 Large Stamp Duty £9 yellow-green/pale green SG 252 with large script 'Specimen' Overprint (KTM Type 13) in Black Diagonally Reading Upwards, a few characteristic irregular perfs, large-part redistributed
original gum. The only recorded example: see KTM at page 41, where one other with horizontal overprint is recorded. Last offered at auction in 1992. [Gibbons don't record unused examples of the £6 to £9. The £5 pink is priced at £18,000. This is
therefore the closest one can get to acquiring an unused example of this impressive & beautiful high-denomination stamp]
