Many hundreds of Texas covers, including stampless, 19th century with letters, unusual usages, foreign destinations, many small town DPOs (Discontinued post offices), many short-lived, WW2 covers, including patriotics, Texas military base and station markings, Cuero Turkey Trot flag cancel, advertising, small town Doane markings, and more. Includes several with Texas autographs such as John Connally, Leon Jaworski, Gov. "Ma" Ferguson, Gov. Dan Moody, Gov. Ross Sterling, John Nance Garner (FDR's VP), Jesse H. Jones (FDR's Secy of Commerce), etc., also includes large Manila envelope holding 27 different. covers and cards dealing with "Chasing Pancho Villa" when Gen. 4042       image(Valentines) 1860s-1900s Penny Dreadful Comics and Valentines. Collection of 120 with mostly being 19th century 9.5"x7" original dreadfuls, most created by American Cartoonist Charles Howard who worked for publisher John McLaughlin (a stylized "H" is visible somewhere, sometimes in the design), later copies of dreadfuls present were used as valentines and have hearts added to them, some better designs include "Brains Wanted", "Cheap, A Shopwarn Valentine", "A Boozy Valentine", etc.; good overall condition, scarce group of mostly earlier dreadful designs.
