A very attractive well balanced range of 1000s of covers (mostly cacheted FDC) with nothing in excess duplication, perhaps a max of 2 or 3 of each, mostly philatelic although some commercial noticed, much with stamps of ¥50, ¥60 or ¥100 including lots of se-tenants and S/S, high value defins, etc., also seen a good number of better Antarctic themes, explorations, first flights, etc., generally fresh and Very Fine, excellent retail potential.
An astounding and extensive collection on painstlkingly annotated pages and including multiples and some postal history, displays virtually every permutation of perforations, different papers, constant errors, etc. in great detail, mostlly F-VF; an exceptional opportunity for the specialist.
100s on Scott pages beginning with a good range of ‘Coat of Arms’ with values to 1fr followed by the 1882 to 5fr, 1891/93 to 1fr, 1895 complete, 20th century strong with the 1902/26 complete to 5fr, 1912/15 overprints complete, 1914/17 complete to 5fr, 1916/24 overprints complete, nearly all complete commems being overwhelmingly NH from the 1940s onwards with all the key series including 1956 Europa as well as the various welfare and charity sets from the late 1940s, ends with a very nice section of Official issues with a particularly good range of 1875 including inverted o/ps on 1c, 2c, 4c,10c (signed often multiples signatures) 1882 complete, 1891/93 5fr mnh, and 20th century officials essentially complete, better condition than usually seen, mostly F-VF, excellent basis for continuation.
Many 100s in a stock book and incl 1922-24 25c-10fr mint, 1939 10fr Stadium mint, 1941 "Ambulance" surcharges mint, 1955 100fr-1000fr Birds perf 11 mint, etc. plus 1953-54 postage dues used, etc., generally F-VF.
An impressive variety of material in a stock book from the first issues onwards through to the third series to 5fr, also much useful 1920s/50s issues with occasional minor duplication, better airmails include mint assorted Birds with some perf varieties, also noticed France 1918 Red Cross issue, somewhat chaotic and usual mixed condition with most F-VF; viewing highly recommended.
Several 100s of stamps mint and used, inc quantity of m/s but nothing in excessive duplication, also occasional block se-tenants etc, with considerable new issue cost housed in 1 volume. Some early classic defins with huge catalog and leading on to much modern. Offered intact as received, worthwhile and interesting.
detailed study of the 19th century issues with much not listed in Scott, particularly the perforation varieties, for the first monarch portraits alone there are over 180 examples, there are also subsequent issues, however of course the most interesting part is the 19th century. Extraordinary in its scope, housed in one volume and will delight the specialist looking for the unusual.
