The adhesives are crossed by horizontal and vertical filing folds, there is a little soiling and some peripheral faults but this is an outstanding and extremely rare Mulready usage (a single 1841 1d red on 2d Mulready cats £32'500). 50071   image1846 (Sep) 2d Mulready Lettersheet, forme 1 stereo a92, uprated to the 6d per 3oz rate with two additional 1841 2d blue pl.3 BG and BH (BG just touched at left). Sent from Hayes via Uxbridge and London to Cobham, the Mulready and stamps were originally left uncancelled the stamps were then lightly cancelled with Uxbridge "830" numerals then subsequently cancelled in transit again with London city office "17" numerals. Also shows a red Hayes-Town UDC and Cobham arrival cds on face for SP.29.1846 with Uxbridge and London transit stamps on reverse for SP.26-28.1846. A very rare uprated Mulready one of only four such recorded frankings. (S.G. £35'000). Note: Illustrated on page 118 of "Mulready Postal Stationery" by Allan Huggins and Alan Holyoake. 50075   imageSouthgate Envelope No. 2, ´Ladies School´, a most unusual and extremely rare overseas usage, addressed to “Miss McCormick, Toulouse, France” (each line of the address apparently in a different ink), obverse showing fine black Le Havre cds of 15 August 1840 and ink manuscript rate marks, the reverse showing Paris and Toulouse(?) cds of 16 and 19 August; minor faults but in no way detracting from this attractive example.
