EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 10-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY H GRILL. THIS PHENOMENAL STAMP IS GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. -- THE HIGHEST AWARDED AND ONE OF TWO TO ACHIEVE THIS GRADE.
This issue is normally found with small margins and very few visible grill points. The margins on the example offered here are exceptionally wide, the perfs are long and full all around, it has wonderful color and a clear grill, and a face-free cancel. This may well be the finest in existence.
Ex Bowman. With 1972 A.P.S., 1999 P.F. and 2008 and 2015 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98; SMQ $13,000.00). This issue is very difficult to obtain in higher grades, as only five others grade higher than 90. The example offered here, at Superb 98, is the highest grade awarded and one of only two to achieve it (Image)

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 30-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY GRILLED ISSUE. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT DENOMINATIONS TO OBTAIN IN SUCH CHOICE CONDITION.
The 30c National Bank Note Co. Grilled Issue is normally seen with small margins, or is off-center. If one finds a centered copy, it more often than not turns out to have a small flaw. The stamp offered here is truly the exception to the rule.
With 1997 and 2007 P.F. certificates (VF-XF 85). By way of comparison, P.S.E. has graded two at 90 and one at 85. (Image)
