Another German-made album was published in Leipzig ca. 1890 called Universal-Briefmarken-Album. But the oldest by far is from Boston 1865 by a one William H Hill Jr. And by no means are these albums empty; on the contrary, they're loaded with stamps. There's quite a few #1's, like France, Great Britain and Norway, but many other premium items as well including some big ones, such as Italy #4 (no gum) & J15 (partial gum), both of which have an accompanying certificate. 900   imageWorldwide, "The Sands of Time" Mint/Used Collections in Old Albums, 1840-1930s, A long, long time ago the albums in this lot were hot off the presses. Nine in total, the oldest is a "Common Sense" album (yes, that was the actual title) from Scott in 1872. Some of the best stamps are in this one, from auspicious Austria & Australian States to brazen Brazil and captivating Cape of Good Hope. Also from Scott are a few Internationals up to 1912, the earliest being a third edition from 1877. Equally intriguing is a set of Borek albums which I had never seen before; published sometime during the 1930s, these four albums do not cover German areas as one would expect, but the colonies of Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. Some better individual items include used Austria #1, Brazil 28, Cape of Good Hope 3-4, 6, Great Britain 1, Nova Scotia 1-2, and many more. Some mixed condition to be expected, but on the whole Fine to Very Fine, many additional images online. Shipping charges apply - weight 51 lbs.
