19th Century Postal History Group, 1851-1900, 1851 SFL with red Hanover NH cds, "PAID", and "5" sent to Wilbraham MA; Arizona Territorial entire mailed from Tucson to Philadelphia with 1899 receiver on the reverse; roughly opened Civil War Patriotic with blue Carlinville and "Due 3" sent by order of Col Rinicher and with favor of Capt Page; badly damaged Scott # U12 with scarce blue boxed auxiliary marking that reads, "VIA NICARAGUA AHEAD OF THE MAILS"; U165 with reversed B circle, encircled fancy cancel on postal entire from Hartford VT to Claremont NH; attractive U277a with printed address from Hilsdale IL to New York NY; and Dec 1900 Rochester NY cover with attractive flag cancel to Surrey England, has Croydon arrival postmark but is missing envelope flap; nice group, Fine. 1887 (Jan. 24), Bingham Correspondence cover from Hoboken, NJ, to London, forwarded to Funchal, Madeira, 2¢ red brown (#210), tied by Hoboken star duplex postmark, the cover addressed to the US Str. Quinnebaug care of Forwarder B.F. Stevens in London, then forwarded with violet "Care of the/United States Consul/Funchal, Madeira" handstamp; duplex New York "T" and "Centimes/15/N.Y." handstamp for 3¢ postage due, red crayon "20" alongside, London "3d" due and additional (Portuguese?) "60" handstamp all on front; reverse with "London-WC/FE 2/87/S.M.P." transit (plus second same-day London postmark incompletely struck), Fine to Very Fine. (Image)
