1267 cover 1911.0930 image1911 (Sept. 30), Aeroplane Station No. 1, trio of envelopes related to America's first Airmail pilot, Earle Ovington; first is a delightful cover postmarked at Garden City Estates Sep 30, 1911 with an additional straight line marking AERIAL SPECIAL DESPATCH; also included are a pair of 20th anniversary flight covers (one from Mineola and the other Los Angeles) autographed by the pilot; the west coast envelope is particularly nice with a delightful Roessler cover, the franking is Scott # 663 (5¢ Kansas overprint), and it is also signed by Postmaster General Frank Hitchcock (1909-1913), Fine to Very Fine.

1268 cover 1929.0123 image1929, Pair of C.A.M. 29 "Airgrams" to Lucerne, Switzerland, both franked with Aeronautics Conference commemoratives (two 2¢ & a 5¢), one originating in Beaumont, Tex., the other in Houston, on Jan 23 and both traveling eastward through New York (Jan 26) by surface mail to Switzerland (no Swiss receivers); both open up into large lettersheets, the Beaumont one being a Christmas "Hollygram" with a colorful corner card and a colorful scene of Santa Claus atop a Plane being pulled by Reindeer, Very Fine.
