Examination under magnification shows that the right-hand side of the ½d embossing is slightly over the 1d, proving that the impressions were applied from right to left. Illustrated on page 145.

778 PSE imageTASMANIAN MAIL: 1d deep rose + 2d emerald + 2d emerald over ½d bright orange subsequently overprinted 'AGENT/FOR THE/TASMANIAN MAIL/HOBART/Messrs GORDON & GOTCH/Queen Street/ Melbourne' WS10.1 (rated RR; unrecorded unused), 'HOBART'-in-bars cancels, significant creasing with attendant fault between the ½d & 1d embossings. Stated to be one of only two recorded examples. Illustrated on page 146. Although this may be the address panel from a wrapper, remarkably with a full 'set' of embossings, it has the appearance of being an embossed parcel address label. If that is the case, it is the only such postal stationery item recorded from any of the Australian Colonies/States.
