THIS GEM IS INDEED ONE OF THE FINEST MINT ORIGINAL GUM EXAMPLES OF THE RARE 1869 15¢ TYPE I. THE BEAUTY OF THIS STAMP MUST BE SEEN TO BE FULLY APPRECIATED!

The 15¢ Type I originates from the initial 1869 printing, while the 15¢ Type II emerged in May 1869 when the second frame plate was employed.nnAs a point of reference, the P.S.E. has graded one sole example in the grade of "85" and only one example higher in the grade of "95".

Scott No. 119; $2,750.

THE 15¢ 1869 TYPE II IS VERY RARE IN THIS CHOICE ORIGINAL GUM CONDITION. A SPECTACULAR STAMP AND CERTAINLY ONE OF THE FINEST KNOWN.

Despite the greater availability of Type II stamps (Scott 119) compared to Type I (Scott 118), we've observed that locating them in gem condition is just as challenging. This particular Type II boasts precise centering and full original gum with light hinging, with the vignette aligning perfectly with the frame, a detail that perfectionists will surely admire.

A STUNNING EXAMPLE OF THE 24¢ 1869 ISSUE WITH A "PAINT RED" CANCEL, WHOSE BEAUTY IS A SIGHT TO BEHOLD.

Typically, United States classic issues command a premium when they bear red cancels. Nevertheless, the nearly twofold premium for a red-cancellation on the 24¢ 1869 bicolor underscores its significant appeal.

3330     122 image1869, 90¢ carmine & black. O.g., barest trace of hinge (which almost looks never hinged), wonderful deep and rich colors, large margins with choice centering on bright paper, Very Fine and choice, with 1990 & 2002 P.F. certificates.
Scott No. 122; $11,000.

A MAGNIFICENT ORIGINAL GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 90¢ 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE, WITH EXCEPTIONAL COLOR, LARGE MARGINS AND POST OFFICE FRESH CONDITION.

The 90¢ 1869 Pictorial stamp has been long treasured by collectors for its exquisite engraving and the dignified portrayal of Abraham Lincoln. Nevertheless, collectors have faced frustration in their pursuit of prime specimens from this issue. Given the considerable high value of 90¢ in 1869, only a limited number of unused stamps were preserved for future collectors. The stamp presented here, boasting full original gum, rich color, and choice centering, likely ranks amongst the finest surviving unused 90¢ 1869 stamps.
