Horizontal pair, full margins, manuscript canceled (no town postmark) on wallpaper cover with floral design in blue, gray and white, to Pickens C.H., S.C., with interesting original enclosure attributed to William S. Grisham, a wealthily 38 year old planter living near Walhalla, S.C., with interesting content regarding the war, mention that he does not know whether he needs a substitute (to go in his stead to serve in the military), Very Fine.
