Internet, Mail, and Phone Auction 3112 - April 11, 2024

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 9:00 AM, Central Time. The sale contains 540 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:
  • Lot 4 - Scott 8A, 1¢ Blue, Ty IIIa
  • Lot 7 - Scott 21, 1¢ BLUE, TY III
  • Lot 15 - Scott 85, 3¢ ROSE, "D" GRILL
  • Lot 51 - Scott 291, 50¢ TRANS-MISSISSIPPI, XF-Superb NH

  • UNITED STATES, There are (89) U.S. lots offered, includes an assortment of Classics, including several scarce issues, Banknotes, over a dozen Columbians, and a few Washington/Franklins. The rest are a mixture 1922 Regular Issues, and Modern issues.
  • COVERS, There are (21) Cover lots; (10) Commercial and (11) First Day. Highlights include two 1874 Great Britain covers to the Colorado Territory.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, This section contains a small offering of (4) lots.

  • CONFEDERATE STATES, there are (6) lots, including (2) Memphis, TN postmaster provisionals, and an interesting woodcut counterfeit.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (4) Lots.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, There are about (154) lots to consider, with some excellent lots from Canada and Great Britain. There are also several very nice Foreign Country Collections from Danish West Indies, Australia, British Africa, and several topical collections. Also, Lot 228 offers an extremely rare FIRST FLIGHT COVER, from Mogadishu, Somalia to Rome, Italy.

  • MISCELLANEOUS, Some literature 1995 and 96 American Philatelic Congress books and (1) lot of basketball cards.

  • DUCK AND CONSERVATION STAMPS & PRINTS, contains about (253) lots, with a mix of Junior, Federals, Federal Remarques, State and State Remarques, Artist Signed stamps, Duck stamp EFO's, and Governor's Editions.
