3923 OGO   APPEALING RUSSIA COLLECTION. very interesting "collector's collection" housed in an album beginning with the scarce 1858/64 unwatermarked inc perf 12½ #9 20K and similarly #10 30k, followed by 1865s perf 14½x15, values to 30k with a good range of postmarks, then 1866 again values to 30k on horiziontally laid paper, through 1875s to 30k and in each and every instance of these different years, minor duplication of virtually all denominations to the 30k. There is also a good album page of 1866/75 definitives, again with values to 30kop, however on vertically laid paper. Then all mint complete series of eight of the 1883/1888 Scott #31-38 and then a beat up used #39 but a good example of #40 high values, the collection unfolds with further defins with thunderbolts, turn of the century with impressive large multiple 7r mint, through to Russo-Japanese War with perf varieties, more defins 1909/12, then 1912/18 mint, through to the imperfs 1918 complete, including various errors with missing vanish lines, spectacular looking paper folds, offsets, misplaced frames, misplaced centeres inc pairs, etc. Also present 1913 Romanov complete, mint as well the 1914/15 war charity issues, again with an excellent study of the perfs, leading on to the inverted overprints 1916/17 surcharge, currency stamps mint and used to 20 kop with a scarce vertical imperf pair of #106a on piece, followed by the 116/17 currency stamps, on to post revolutionary issues of 1921 on pelure, cartridge and chalk surfaced papers, then the large postal savings stamps inc both types of #PF2-3 , used #PF-8 through to the 4th anniversary of the October revolution inc the elusive 200rb not regularly issued. Then an extensive study of the papers of the Volga types, through to the 1922 surcharges, in depth, again with inverted o/ps, different papers, watermarks, etc. Also present, 1922/23 pentagon star o/ps inc imperf between used(not listed in Scott), inverted surcharge, etc. Also seen, a good study of the 1923 Worker/soldier/peasant types, both perf and imperf including discoveries to be made here in these complicated defins through to the 1925 high values, an excellent range. The collections ends with postage dues 1924/25, the Lenin 1924, similarly airmails with and without o/ps, the mausoleum issue and both commems inc imperf, etc. We get the distinct impression that there are some really good items here and we recommend the specialist spends time on this superb collection. 3924 OGO   APPEALING RUSSIA COLLECTION TO 1945. Two albums well written up and comprehensive in scope including plenty of good complete series, both mint and used. Highlights include 20th anniversary of the 1905 rebellion perf and imperf the child warfare inc. unissued 20 cop dark blue and all the rest, a useful range of postage dues with various o/p errors, the definitives with different perfs, as well as 1927/28 complete mint, many of the other later series of the 1920s through to defins 1929/31 complete with imperfs to 30 kop, through to the better airmail sets with all the perf types mint and used of the Graf Zeppelin Moscow flight, the 1931/32 airship issue complete both perf and impef, the North Pole issue again complete both perf and imperf mint and used, the air express inc. different perfs, 1932 philatelic exhibition both mint and used different perfs through to the 1933 o/ps of the same used, the stratospherses both mint and used, the civil aviation series of 1933 both wmk and unwmk complete mint and used, the 1934 zeppelins, the 1935 anti-war issue complete mint and used, the Moscow underground complete, the air issue Chelyuskin rescue, the 1935 Sparcist Games and all the rest, including airmails and definitives through to 1945. 3925 OGO   RUSSIA6 well filled lighthouse albums, mint and used, corresponding to the years, 1858 to 1935, 1936 to 1946 and the four albums for the post WW2 era. The main strength is in the 19th century from the 1858 Tsarist issues, all one of a kind, good turn of the century, 1908/18, followed by early 20th century including much mint, errors such as stamps printed on both sides, overprints varieties, through many of the good series 1923 to 1937 with pages after page inc completion inc zeppelins large and small, perf and imperf, various stratospheres, airmails, Spartacus Games all complete etc. Few empty spaces, as well as often parallel mint and used with better m/s and plenty of better, etc, etc.

3926 OGO   RUSSIAN OFFICES ABROAD SPECIALIZED COLLECTION. Excellent "collectors collection" of several hundreds of stamps, mostly mint, well written up and housed in one well filled album. Beginning with Russian Company of Shipping and Trade (R.O.P.I.T) from imperf onwards through to Russian stamps surcharged for use in the Levant including both horizontal and vertical laid papers, inverted surcharge on two kop green and four kop red (Scott #31a and Scott #32a) and clearly misplaced surcharge on pair of Scott #31 not listed as such in the catalog through to high values 70pi o/ps, to the wove papers with further errors then a comprehensive range of offices in Beirut, Constantinople (cobv mplete), Dardanelles, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Kerasund, Mount Athos (complete), Mytilene, Rizeh (complete), Salonika, Smyrna (complete), Trebizond (complete) and in most of these offices various errors throught to regular issues in the Levant to 100 piastres o/ps, 1913 Romanov issue complete etc. The next section begins with post offices in China again to high values and different papers inc. inverted surcharge Scott #55a through to $10 on 10r, followed by the Civil War issues including comprehensive Northern Army, Army of the North West, stamps prepared for use by the Western army but not issued, excellent Russian stamps surcharged for use in South Russia (Kuban Terriory) with a sweeping range of errors including singles and multiples of misplaced inverted and double surcharges, an extremely good collection of these issues with lots of scarce items present including Don Territory, as well as Crimea, on to General Denikin, again including multiples, various errors with paper and gum varieties etc. Also present General Wrangel issues inc. a very visual misplaced surcharges and double surcharge multiple format. Also present an extremely good range of Russian refugee post to both perf and imperf high values including pairs through to Far Eastern Republic, again with much scarce material page after page ending with Priamur and Maritime Provinces, Karelia complete, Olonetz, West Ukraine (Eastern Galicia) to 10kr signed. A truly wonderful collection with much not listed in the Scott catalogue. (see online scans)
