The Jeanette C. Rudy Collection of Tennessee Postal History will appeal to
specialists in a myriad of fields of postal history. While all have a
Tennessee connection, the Rudy Collection contains numerous significant
items for postal history specialists of all popular collecting areas, such
as: stampless covers, 1847 issues, Civil War patriotic covers, expositions,
advertising and illustrated covers, Confederate Postmasters' Provisionals,
and of course the most famous of all Tennessee related covers - and one of
the most significant covers in American philately - the most important of
only three covers recorded bearing the famous Buffalo Balloon stamp.
