Horizontal strip of six, plate 4, lettered H-A to H-F, mostly large to clear margins including parts of few adjoining stamps, just touching at top right and right sides and slightly in at bottom left, tied by multiples strikes of barred "172" handstamp with red "Derry OC 31 1853" circular datestamp on reverse of folded letter to New York, red "Paid" handstamp

FINE AND EXCEPTIONALLY RARE STRIP OF THE 1851 2-PENCE VIOLET BLUE ON LAVENDER TINTED PAPER USED ON TRANS-ATLANTIC COVER.
