Either neatly mounted in an album or on additional pages, large mix of both unused and used with much of the value in the errors and varieties, both listed and unlisted in Stanley Gibbons, we notice a large amount of spacing studies, offset varieties, perforations, pre-printing paperfolds, "C" for "G" Officials, unissued stamps (Maharaja Varma 1a3p and 6p on 9p), incl. SG Nos. 22 complete pane with SG Ty. 7b inserted by hand, 22d, 50a, 111a, 117a, O11a, O62a, O99b among many others, condition is mixed overall with stamps affected by native toning, careful viewing is highly suggested

1296 c Ionian Islands Postal History Exhibit Collection. Offered intact as received, well over 200 covers, from the early Venetian period to the 1950s, the earliest is a 1661 letter posted at Corfu, nine others from the 18th Century, four early 19th Century from the Russian or French period, the strength of the collection is in the 1815-1864 period, when it was a British Protectorate, which includes various city postmarks, official mail, inter-island mail, inbound, includes the Crown Circle Paid handstamps from Cephalonia, Corfu, and Zante, covers with the 1864 1p Blue and 2p Lake stamps (as well as a Die Proof of the issue), later 19th Century with multicolored frankings of Greece Hermes Heads, World War I uses, with various censored and used at the Serbian Post Office, flight covers from the 1930s, World War II with Greek and Italian censor markings, covers with scarce Italian Occupation overprints (Corfu, Zante, etc.), and finally a group of free-frank mail during the 1953 Earthquake, the exhibit is nicely augmented throughout with photographs, maps, coins, and banknotes, this would make an excellent basis on which to form a gold-medal exhibit collection of this challenging and historically important area
