EASILY ONE OF THE FINEST KNOWN EXAMPLES OF THE 1919 2-CENT KNOX MARTIN AIR POST FROM THE PARTICULARLY SCARCE POSITION 4. ONLY TWO EXAMPLES FROM THIS POSITION ARE BELIEVED TO EXIST AS SINGLES. Theoretically, while equal quantities of each position were printed, most were used on cover. Of the remaining unused examples, three multiples includes pos. 4 making singles quite rare. Position 5, large part original gum, precise centering with full perfs all around (scarce thus), fresh color, slightest trace of toning at top left VERY FINE AND RARE EXAMPLE OF THE KNOX MARTIN FROM POSITION 5 WITH SERIF "1". ONLY NINE UNUSED EXAMPLES ARE BELIEVED TO EXIST. Of the 26 examples printed of position 5, nine are unused (four in strips or pairs and five singles), twelve covers and five used or on piece. Oddly enough, there are believed to be more unused position 5 than any other position. Palacio B." printed cover to Puerto Colombia, arrival datestamp also ties stamp, stamp with slightly trimmed perfs at bottom as usual VERY FINE. A SPLENDID EXAMPLE OF KNOX MARTIN POSITION 5 SHOWING THE SERIF "1" ON FLOWN COVER. OF THE 26 PRINTED FROM THIS POSITION, ONLY TWELVE COVERS HAVE BEEN RECORDED.
