Paid Nov. 4" circular datestamp with matching "24" credit handstamp, red London Paid Nov. 17 transit datestamp, 3c stamp with corner crease and couple minor perf flaws, 12c with tiny tear and edge crease from being folded over top of cover, small cover tear at top

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE USE OF THE 12-CENT AND 30-CENT 1861 ISSUE ON COVER TO URUGUAY. A BEAUTIFUL THREE-COLOR FRANKING.

This was prepaid 45c for the British Mail rate via England. It was carried on the North German Lloyd's Hansa on Nov. 4 to Southampton, transited the London Foreign Office and then was carried on the RMSPC Oneida on Dec. 9. (Image)
