Aug. 16, 1862" double-circle datestamp on buff cover to Athens Tex., with original letter enclosure, slightly reduced at left, Very Fine, a great rarity, fewer than a dozen provisional entires are recorded and this is one of only two known that shows the old 5c rate handstamps used in combination with the 10c rate in effect from June 1, 1862, the other is ex Dr. Brandon and from the same correspondence, this one ex Murphy, with 1997 C.S.A. certificate, Scott Retail $2,500.00 for normal 9XU1 entire (Image)
