Full margins to touching, tied by barred oval cancel on folded letter to Greenock, Scotland, sent from Sydney with clear May 10, 1854 departure backstamp, endorsed "Golden Age" at top and sent via Panama on the first voyage of the Pacific Mail by Steamer, London transit and Greenock arrival backstamps, cover in fragile state with hole in address area and some damage, otherwise Fine, very few examples are known from this first mail ship to cross the Pacific, the cost was so great that it resulted in this being the first and last voyage, no other dedicated mail ships are known to have crossed the Pacific until 1866 (Image)
