Jan. 25" circular datestamp but struck in black on cover to Fairmont West Va., first with defective stamp, both with some wear, still Very Fine appearing and very rare pair of covers, this railroad ran only 32 miles from Washington Pa. to Wheeling West Va., the first ex Towle (Image)

Clear grill points, tied by "B & O R R Stevensons Sep. 2, 1867" route agent's double-circle datestamp on Jordan's White Sulphur Springs corner card cover to Philadelphia, noting it is "Only 1-1/2 Miles from Stephenson's Depot", docketing at left confirms yeardate, some slight overall wear, Very Fine, very scarce railroad use of the 3c A Grill, the EDU is Aug. 13, 1867 so this is a very early use, it is also interesting with the name in the postmark spelled differently than it is on the corner card, ex Wyer, with 1996 P.F. certificate (Image)
