VERY FINE. A RARE USE OF THE 1868 12-CENT Z GRILL ON A PATRIOTIC COVER TO IRELAND. THIS IS THE SECOND-EARLIEST RECORDED USE OF THIS STAMP.

Grilled issues on patriotic covers are extremely rare, since the war was over for three years before regular grilled stamp production.
