55 og Desirable Balance of the Markowitz France Collection. To 1940 all neatly housed in a specially made Palo album, about 50 stamps in the 1853-1873 period, incl. some shades, catalogue values to about $800.00, nice range of Sage issues, the 20th Century is lacking only a handful of stamps for completion and is exceptionally clean and fresh, incl. Semi-Postals and Air Posts, also Postage Dues, a few Newspaper Stamps, Occupation Issues, Alsace & Lorraine, and other Back-of-Book, there are just a few no gum and a small handful of regummed stamps among the 19th Century (catalogued appropriately), otherwise the collection contains only original gum stamps that have been hand selected by Mr. Markowitz over decades of collecting, only a few stamps have insignificant small flaws, overwhelmingly Fine-Very Fine, an outstanding basis upon which to build a choice collection of France, Scans of the entire collection (16.1mb) can be found at http://www.siegelauctions.com/2015/1091/pdf/55.pdf
