2407 c ImageCANADA, 1876, 8c Blue Registration (F3). Tied to an 1877 registered cover from Goderich to London, England by a straightline "Registered" handstamp (a small bit of manuscript endorsement also ties the stamp), along 1876 5c Slate Green Small Queen (No. 38) which paid the preferred rate to England (it too is tied by the straight line "Registered"), clear "Goderich, Ont./JU 8 77" originating circular datestamp, along with several transit and ms. rate markings in black, red and green, the stamp is unusually well-centered

VERY FINE. WIDELY CONSIDERED TO BE THE FINEST 8-CENT REGISTRATION COVER USED IN THE PROPER PERIOD.

Only fifteen covers are recorded used in the proper 1876-1877 period. This small number includes several fronts or defective covers.
