EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT NEW YORK POSTMASTER'S PROVISIONAL ISSUE.

This stamp is particularly desirable cancelled solely by the "Paid" arc handstamp. With 2010 P.F. and 2007 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98, Postmasters' Provisionals unpriced in SMQ). While P.S.E. does not publish a Population Report for Postmasters' Provisionals, their records show only this single example graded 98 for 9X1 and all its listed sub-types (Image)
