EXTREMELY FINE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $500.00 "SERIES OF 1944" OVERPRINT, WHICH IS CANCELLED ONLY BY A LIGHT STRIKE OF A HANDSTAMP. WITHOUT QUESTION THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST IN EXISTENCE.

This issue, when it is found at all, normally comes with either cut cancels or perfins, or will have staple holes. The example offered here, with none of those detractions, is a true condition rarity.

With 2005 P.F. certificate. (Image)
