52   image1893, Columbian Exposition Admission Tickets, the complete set of 11 including the scarce intact Chicago Day Children's ticket; also includes the original Caxton Co. envelope in which the tickets were distributed; the tickets are all fresh and Very Fine, the envelope, which is very scarce, is opened at top with a bit of toning but otherwise intact.

Also included is James Doolin's invaluable reference work, 1893 - Columbian Exposition, Admission and Concession Tickets, a 22 page compendium of all available tickets with plenty of background information, as well as printing quantities and rarity factors.
Estimate $600 - 800

After the close of the Exposition, the Caxton Co. of Chicago bought all of the unused tickets and sold them as souvenirs in their own envelopes. These envelopes are rarely seen in any state of preservation as they were usually thrown away at the time.
