2026   image1892-1901, New Year greeting cards from the postmaster & staff of New York Post Office to Members of the U.P.U., group of eight different large pictorial cards on heavy card stock for the years 1892, 1893, 1895-1898, 1900 & 1901; they range in size from 4½-5½" x 6½-8", several being multiple, those from 1895 having the names of the Postmaster and his entire staff on the back (or inside on the 1897 card, the only one that folds); few minor mts flaws, but overall, a fresh and delightful group of these beautiful and seldom seen U.P.U. and New York postal history collateral items.

2027   image1898-99, twice-forwarded cover from the Netherlands to Shanghai, franked with Netherlands 1894 12½¢ gray (44) and addressed to a soldier aboard the U.S.S. Petrel, c/o the Consul General in Shanghai; forwarded to Manila, P.I. and finally to San Francisco, with three U.S. 1894 2¢ type (267) affixed over the Dutch stamp with adhesive, but uncanceled; front & back bear Japanese, British, French and Local Post Shanghai markings, as well as U.S. Military markings of Cebu (U.S. Mil. Sta. No 4), Manila and San Francisco (two different), with dates ranging from the original Dutch postmark (22 Dec 98) to the final San Francisco receiver (21 May 99) and also including a Hong Kong transit; stamps damaged (and stained by the adhesive), one hinged in place to reveal the Dutch stamp; otherwise a Fine and most unusual cover.
