8   imageU.S., High Catalog Mint Collection, 1847-1940. Fairly complete from the Bank Note period onward, plus odd earlier values, on Schaubek album pages; when we say "mint" collection, we mean that that's what the collector tried to get; but there are lots of regums and no gums, as well as a few cleaned. Nonetheless, with all that said, there is plenty of substance here, just from sheer catalog value alone. Highlights include an attractive 4-margin 5¢ 1847 single and a strip of three with lightened pen cancels, then 1875 reprints of the 1¢ 1861 and the 2¢ & 15¢ 1869 (the latter with BPA certificate); these are followed by lots of Bank Note issues (two 90¢), then Columbians to the $1 plus $3, solid First & Second Bureaus (including 1894 $5 and 1895 $2, 1902 $1), Washington-Franklins nearly complete, Fourth Bureaus & Kans.-Nebr. complete, etc., etc.; even includes C1-C18, most Special Deliveries & K1-18. You'll want to spend a lot of time viewing this one.
