1   imageGreat Britain, 1807, Transport Office POW letter from France to England, 2 page stampless cover datelined Valenciennes Jany 22nd 1807, addressed to Gloucestershire England, with Transport Office Prisoner of War hand stamp, handstamp was known on outgoing mail from French POws, this letter show the Office also dealt with incoming mail, letter tells how he was shipwrecked and he and 260 of his Regiment became POws, receiver shows letter took over two years to be delivered, Fine to Very Fine.
