Texas soldier's letter to Georgia. At the time this letter was mailed to Georgia the 10th Texas was in camp at Galveston guarding the Texas coast. In the summer of 1862 the 10th along with other Texas units departed to Arkansas to halt and drive back a Union movement into Arkansas. The 10th went to Fort Hindman. In January 1863 this unit was captured with other units stationed at Fort Hindman and paroled.
