338 F 6 var. imageItalian States: Papal/Roman States, 1855-57, 5b black on rose, Bologna postal forgery, used on folded letter to Firenze (Scott 6 var.), type II stamp with three large margins and just clear of the frameline at top, paying the proper rate for a single weight letter from Bologna to Tuscany, tied by grill cancel, adjacent Bologna Nov. 23, 1855 circular datestamp, Firenze backstamp, filing fold not affecting stamp and some stains, Fine to Very Fine, these forgeries are known as rare with margins, signed by A. Diena, Sergio Sismondo & others, also accompanied with 1973 A. Diena Certificate.
