22   imageEgypt, 1838 (June 18), Lloyd Agency Steamship folded letter from Alexandria to US Legation at Constantinople, highly literate and fascinating letter, marked on front by the exceedingly rare "Del Lloyd Austriaco Agenzia Alessandria" oval handstamp in black (fair strike). It is believed that only 2 examples of this marking exist, both in blue, the earliest being in 1846. Fresh, Fine to Very Fine, a showpiece, quite possibly unique.
